JJHF has officially opened a permanent office in Lilongwe, Malawi, strengthening our on-the-ground presence and enabling faster response to community needs. The office will coordinate healthcare outreach, education programs, and women empowerment initiatives across 15 districts.

Amara Okonkwo, 14, from Owerri, was on the verge of dropping out of school when JJHF's Girl Child Rights program intervened. Today, she is top of her class in secondary school and dreams of becoming a doctor. Her story represents the 150 girls enrolled in JJHF's 2026 scholarship cohort.

Grace's Baby Thrives: Mobile Clinic Saves Infant Life in Rural Malawi
Grace Banda's infant daughter was critically ill when the JJHF mobile clinic arrived in her village outside Lilongwe. With no access to formal healthcare, the free treatment provided by JJHF doctors saved her daughter's life. Grace now volunteers as a community health ambassador.

Emmanuel's Freedom: Legal Aid Program Overturns Wrongful Conviction
After 3 years of wrongful imprisonment, Emmanuel Chukwu is free. JJHF's Justice & Freedom legal team fought for his release, and upon his return, enrolled him in skills training and provided a small business grant. Emmanuel now runs a thriving carpentry business in Owerri.
